About the role

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with three to seven years of experience or Senior Counsel with eight or more years of experience for an immediate opening in our Madison office. The position works primarily with attorneys in our Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in each of three areas important to our clients: employment litigation, transactional work focused on employment issues, and day-to-day counseling of clients on a full range of employment law and compliance issues.
  • Work closely with attorneys in the Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education business unit.
  • Adhere to all state and federal laws regarding employment practices.
  • Prepare and present legal arguments in court and before administrative agencies.
  • Provide guidance and advice to clients on employment-related matters.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports related to employment disputes.
  • Participate in client meetings and consultations to discuss employment concerns.
  • Assist in the drafting and review of employment-related documents and agreements.

Requirements

  • An active Wisconsin bar license or commitment to obtain one as soon as possible.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

  • Exceptional judgment.
  • The ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • The ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
