Labor & Employment Associate Attorney (2-3 YOE) - Employment Law

About the role

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its growing California practice. This is an opportunity to work with sophisticated employer-side clients on a broad range of employment matters while receiving hands-on mentorship and direct client exposure.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in employment litigation matters in state and federal court
• Handle wage & hour, PAGA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters
• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation documents
• Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Conduct workplace investigations and provide day-to-day employment counseling
• Advise clients on California employment law compliance and risk management issues

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar membership
• Approximately 2-5 years of labor & employment experience
• Experience with employment litigation, wage & hour matters, FEHA claims, and/or PAGA litigation preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage matters and interact directly with clients
