Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse, Per Diem
About the role
Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our L&D team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by the BMCHS nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
Requirements
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred)
- Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advanced Certification
- 2 years' experience in Labor and Delivery
- Experience with electronic health record preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language a plus

Pay
Compensation Range: $39.80 – $93.69. This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and considers education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
