Labor and Laboratory Technician (GeoSystems Analysis)

GeoSystems Analysis, Inc., a Trinity Consultants team, specializes in soil, water, and ecological sciences and has an opportunity for a part-time Labor and Laboratory Technician in Tucson, Arizona. This role is ideal for a student enrolled in a geology, hydrology, or environmental sciences program seeking hands-on experience in a supportive workplace.

About the role

This part-time position provides support to GSA laboratories and field operations, performing physical labor, laboratory organization, equipment cleaning, and basic soil testing tasks. The role is suited for a reliable individual who enjoys hands-on work and can operate independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and organize laboratory facilities, warehouses, and GSA trucks.
• Assist with soil sample preparation and measurement of basic soil parameters.
• Conduct saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity testing.
• Assist in constructing and calibrating soil monitoring instruments.
• Support maintenance and operational readiness of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Follow laboratory safety guidelines and maintain a clean workspace.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a geology, hydrology, or environmental sciences program (ideal).
• Independent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience in a scientific or commercial laboratory (preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand/power tools (preferred).
• Experience with databases and/or Microsoft Excel (desirable).
• Valid driver’s license.

Schedule

Variable hours, averaging 5–20 hours per week.

Pay

$16.00 – $20.00 per hour.
