Labor and Employment Associate
About the role
A well-established and growing law firm in the Mid-Atlantic region, known for its exclusive representation of management-side clients in both the public and private sectors, is seeking an associate attorney to join its employment law practice. This opportunity is based in the firm’s Princeton office.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the firm’s broad employment counseling and litigation work, including restrictive covenant disputes, FINRA arbitrations, noncompete and non-solicitation agreements, drafting and negotiation of employment or severance agreements, and cases involving restrictive covenants, noncompete and non-solicitation agreements, employee mobility, and regulatory arbitration proceedings.
- Represent financial services clients in arbitration and related matters.
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Contribute to the firm’s strategic initiatives and professional development.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice in New Jersey
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Employment litigation, Restrictive covenant disputes, FINRA arbitrations, Noncompete and non-solicitation agreements, Drafting and negotiation of employment or severance agreements
Qualifications
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for employment law and a commitment to excellence
Skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Effective oral advocacy and negotiation skills
- Experience with employment law and arbitration procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
