Associate - Employment and Labor Relations (Chicago)

About the role

Taft is seeking a team-oriented associate to join its Employment and Labor practice group in the Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have experience with, or a desire to focus on, management-side employment law counseling and litigation. Experience in wage and hour collective and class actions would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment law counseling and advice to clients
• Represent clients in employment litigation
• Assist with managing and resolving workplace disputes
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in employment law
• Exceptional academic and professional credentials
• Superior research, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in Illinois
• Passionate about employment law

• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
