About the Role
Control production of labels for manufacturing departments. Schedule label production using acquired knowledge of priorities of manufacturing production. Maintain label stock, operate labeling printers and equipment, and use necessary labeling software to ensure accurate production of labels. Maintain proper levels of label room supplies and keep all areas organized and clean.
Responsibilities
- Sort pack orders (label requests) to verify label information and select the correct label shell and printer for each order.
- Use Bartender, WFG Label Print Program, and D365 software to create and produce print jobs as needed on various label shells using thermal transfer and inkjet printers.
- Modify existing information for labeling needs using Bartender and D365 software.
- Operate thermal transfer and inkjet printers to print labels for all production departments.
- Maintain knowledge of DOT information as it pertains to label requirements.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of label room and printer supplies, including performing inventory cycle counts and processing documentation.
- Maintain facility printers in good operating order to meet label quality requirements.
- Coordinate with all other departments requiring labels.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Manufacturing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Bartender and Microsoft D365 software.
- Knowledge of formula and raw material information used in the labeling process.
- Understanding of bar codes and related software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with equipment and supplies used in label production.
- Ability to reason and make decisions within the scope of job requirements.
- Professional interaction with team members and management.

Work Environment
Label printing room with occasional visits to manufacturing in a standard manufacturing environment.
Key Performance Indicators
- Produce labels within the time frame designated by manufacturing production tickets (label request sheets).
- Maintain a no-backlog of labels required for daily production.
- Knowledge of operating companies’ label requirements.
- Understanding of customer labeling requirements within each operating company.
- Ability to maintain printers and use required software systems efficiently.
- Efficient stocking of label supplies.
