Lab Technologist II - Precise Lab (Day Shift)
About the role
The Lab Technologist II supports specimen processing and testing in the laboratory, working closely with department management and quality team members to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Comply with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Operate high complexity testing.
- Participate in quality assurance plan and document quality control and preventive maintenance activities.
- Work as part of a team to achieve repeatable quality results.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory space.
- Participate in proficiency testing.
- Participate in continuing education.
- Follow training and competency assessment programs.
- Document and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance.
- Resolve problems or implement projects within the departmental team.
- Train on technical processes within the group.
Qualifications
- Doctoral, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in medical technology or a related field.
- 6 months of clinical lab experience or equivalent.
- California CLS trainee license or CLS/CGMBS license.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and proficiency in calculations.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
- Basic proficiency with computers and statistics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive documentation skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting requirements: medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds consistently.
- Physical requirements: stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, reaching, and repetitive motion.
- Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Hazards and atmospheric conditions: exposure to fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and radiant energy hazards.
- OSHA Category I: duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
