Responsibilities

• Procure blood samples via venous and capillary techniques from patients of all ages (infant to geriatric).
• Use the Laboratory Information System to activate, order, and result laboratory orders from providers.
• Educate patients on proper collection of specimens such as urine, stool, and sputum.
• Review provider orders for accuracy; contact providers' offices to obtain orders when necessary.
• Process specimens appropriately, including centrifuging, separating, and storing at required temperatures to maintain sample integrity.
• Prepare specimens for transfer to reference laboratories, complete required paperwork, and ensure timely transport of STAT specimens.
• Perform waived and moderately complex CLIA testing in hematology, urinalysis, and serology under the supervision of an MLT or MT.
• Maintain accurate records, including temperature monitoring, quality control, and daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience required.
• Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist preferred.
• High school diploma plus additional coursework up to 1 year.

Pay

$17.04 - $24.70 per hour. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

Schedule

Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
