Job Summary
Under close supervision, the Production Support Technician performs production support activities to help meet manufacturing goals while following established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates currently pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field and looking to gain hands-on laboratory and manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform production support functions in accordance with GMP guidelines.
- Execute moderately complex laboratory and production procedures following established protocols.
- Aid in meeting daily production goals and quality objectives.
- Operate laboratory equipment and use laboratory chemicals and tools safely.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and laboratory notes.
- Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Adhere to safety policies and proper handling procedures for laboratory materials, including potentially biohazardous materials.
- Support manufacturing operations while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure production objectives are met.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing an Associate's (AA/AS) or Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree in:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Biotechnology
- Microbiology
- Life Sciences
- Or a related scientific discipline
- Laboratory coursework required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-2 years of laboratory or manufacturing experience.
- Hands-on experience operating laboratory equipment and performing laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO standards, ISO 13485, and CMDR.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.
