We’re seeking a motivated Lab Technician II to join our environmental laboratory team in Round Rock, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional to expand their expertise in analytical testing while contributing to accurate, timely, and high-quality results. This role combines hands-on sample preparation and analysis with instrumentation, data review, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within a collaborative, quality-focused laboratory team. What You’ll Do Perform sample preparation, analytical testing, and quality control activities in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and regulatory requirementsOperate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment, including routine preventive maintenanceReview and interpret analytical data, perform calculations, and investigate or escalate discrepancies, unusual findings, and out-of-control conditionsMaintain accurate laboratory records, enter results in LIMS, and prepare reports as requiredCollaborate with team members and management to prioritize workloads, meet turnaround expectations, and support cross-trainingContribute to audits, corrective actions, SOP revisions, and continuous improvement initiativesMaintain a clean, organized, and well-supplied laboratory, including glassware, inventory, and equipmentPerform additional duties as assigned Requirements What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline2+ years of professional hands-on analytical laboratory experience, preferably within environmental testingDemonstrated experience with analytical instrumentation, standardized test methods, and interpretation of analytical data across multiple techniquesFamiliarity with regulatory compliance requirements for laboratory operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS What We Offer Competitive compensationMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurancePaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule Full-time, on-site positionAbility to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to meet client or workload needs Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
