Lab Technician II

Location: Athens, GA | Type: Contract | Work Model: Onsite | Hours: 40 per week

Overview

Global pharma company seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to join their growing team. A BS Degree and prior experience with vaccine manufacturing or aseptic techniques is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment using virus and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures during process execution.
• Assist with training and coaching current and new employees on required skills.
• Complete and review in-process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner; maintain technical data and support documentation.

• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions to address problems; escalate production flow disturbances.
• Demonstrate a visible and tangible commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs and initiatives.
• Assess individual performance with regards to continuous improvement (AAI).
• Support site projects and initiatives, including deviation and change control management.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of clean room and aseptic techniques.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Basic math skills, equipment/automation troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other database software systems.
• BS Degree in Biology preferred but not required.
