About the role
Perform physical testing of medical devices and combination products for R&D, verification, complaints, and stability programs. Conduct laboratory testing in a cGMP environment, understanding the technical and compliance needs of the business. Actively participate in continuous improvement to maintain operational efficiency, supply to patients, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Create an environment of strong team spirit with timely and effective communications.
- Develop ability to influence using technical and personal reasoning.
- Perform a broad variety of basic and moderately complex tests in support of lab operations.
- Perform testing of routine and non-routine samples.
- Perform routine lab maintenance, order and maintain lab supply inventory.
- Perform sample filling and decontamination, and assist in lab complaints investigations.
- Receive and provide training.
- Coordinate with lab supervisor to support operational activities.
- Identify and support resolution of technical problems.
- Actively participate in group and project teamwork; project and process improvements.
- Resolve issues as needed with management approval.
- Adhere to cGMP policies and procedures, including documentation activities.
- Meet scheduled performance of 95% on-time delivery.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor/manager to support Quality.
Requirements
- B.S./B.A. (preferably in a relevant scientific discipline) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred but not required).
- 0 to 5 years of experience.
- Basic knowledge of scientific theories, principles, and techniques used in physical test procedures.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, reasoning, and problem-solving.
- Capable of completing assigned responsibilities in a timely manner under minimal supervision while keeping the manager informed of status.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment
- The majority of work is completed onsite in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to make repetitive motions and manual manipulations of samples.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals may occur; work requires use of glassware, needles, and syringes.
- PPE (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses) may be required in the laboratory.
Schedule
Fully onsite, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PT.
Interview Process
Two rounds: a 30-minute call with the direct supervisor, followed by a 45-minute panel.
