Lab Technician - Filling and Formulation

About the role

The ideal candidate for a lab technician role in the cannabis industry will have a degree in chemistry and hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in cannabis testing willing to work long hours. Attention to detail, knowledge of quality control and ability to adhere to SOPs are all crucial. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a passion for the cannabis industry are also important for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Main Duties will be Filling and Formulation but may be asked to perform a variety of lab processes, which can include but are not limited to various aspects of: Filling, Formulating, solventless extraction.
• Cleaning and preventive maintenance of all equipment, tools, and work areas
• Escalate any technical issues related to processes or equipment to their Supervisor
• Maintain safe and efficient production, working with delicate and expensive equipment
• Maintain accurate records for all production phase steps, using paper and electronic logs, METRC/Biotrack track-and-trace, and Odoo ERP
• Met or exceed production goals with few to no errors
• Packaging products as needed for production

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift more than 40 pounds throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of experience in a laboratory or production environment.
• Experience with filling, formulation, extraction, or cannabis production processes.
• Familiarity with METRC, BioTrack, Odoo ERP, or similar inventory and production tracking systems.

• Location: Oakland, CA
• Reports To: Jesse Lewis, Lab Production Manager
• On-Site Requirements: 5 days per week in the lab
• Compensation: $27.50 to $32.50, per hour
