LAB TECHNICIAN- EVERGREEN

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing including, but not limited to, HbA1c, Urine Dip, Urine HCG, Glucose, Strep A, PT/INR, and other CLIA-waived tests.
• Perform phlebotomy for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Process specimens and accurately document and report test results.
• Ensure all laboratory results are entered into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Notify providers of pertinent laboratory results.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Aid with laboratory training, competencies, and CLIA compliance requirements.
• Provide coverage at other Franklin Primary Health Center locations when needed.
• Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Support proficiency testing and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Answer telephone calls professionally and assist patients, providers, and staff.
• Assist with resolving laboratory billing and documentation issues as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Program, Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program, or Associate’s Degree preferred.
• One (1) or more years of laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification or National Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification preferred.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR), Microsoft Office, and standard laboratory equipment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
