Lab Technician

About the role

Lead the Coatings and Feeding Systems, supporting product development and technical efforts providing support to the M&T and manufacturing teams. Direct reports: none. Lab technicians perform testing for one or more business units, conduct lab bench testing for product development, raw material validations, cost‑down projects and process improvements, and serve as the main liaison between manufacturing functions and product management regarding all product and process related technology.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform laboratory tests to assist in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of materials and batches.
• Perform routine analyses to check accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of test data.
• Record data and prepare simple charts or graphs.
• Accurately follow work instructions along with established operating procedures and test methods.
• Maintain and clean laboratory instruments or equipment.
• Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams and by conducting laboratory/plant safety audits.
• Assist with recipe management system administration as needed.
• Interact with production unit managers, purchasing, and the M&T director as required by active projects; review progress on key projects from product development, manufacturing and technology development perspectives.
• Address technical issues with key customers as required and directed by product line managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM‑related field (chemistry or related preferred).
• 1+ years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
