Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

  • Assist with laboratory operations in the characterization area, including basic sample preparation and handling.
  • Support operation of laboratory equipment under established procedures and supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of laboratory work areas.
  • Support safe transfer, staging, and movement of materials between laboratory and operational areas.
  • Follow material control, labeling, and tracking requirements during all transfers.
  • Absolutely assist with packaging, storage, and preparation of materials for laboratory use or downstream processing.
  • Accurately record laboratory data, observations, and process information in logs, forms, or electronic systems.
  • Maintain organized and complete records in accordance with quality and procedural requirements.
  • Support data review and verification activities as required.
  • Follow all environmental health & safety (EH&S), radiological protection, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Use required personal protective equipment and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Immediately report abnormal conditions, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervision.
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory staff, engineers, and operations personnel to support daily priorities.
  • Absolutely assist with general laboratory and operational tasks as needed to meet organizational objectives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory practices, sample handling, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
  • Comfort working in regulated environments and following safety requirements.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Technical, associate, or trade background preferred; degree not required.
  • Prior experience in radiological, chemical, or materials-related environments is a plus but not required.
