Lab Technician

Smile Straight Orthodontics is part of Kids Dental Brands, a growing network of pediatric dental and orthodontic practices. Each office maintains its own identity while benefiting from shared resources, culture, and mission. We are seeking a Lab Technician to support orthodontic treatment by processing prescriptions, preparing digital models, and assisting with the fabrication of retainers. No prior laboratory experience is required; experience in a dental, orthodontic, or patient‑facing role is helpful, and we will provide training for the right candidate.

About the role

The Lab Technician works behind the scenes to create high‑quality orthodontic lab products, ensuring accurate and timely support for patient treatment. This hands‑on position values detail, quality, and collaboration with clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and process orthodontic prescriptions using EasyRxEdit, and prepare and print digital models for clinical and laboratory use.
• Assist with the fabrication of retainers and other orthodontic lab products.
• Ensure all prescriptions, models, and lab work are completed accurately and according to provider specifications.
• Organize, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and workspaces.
• Coordinate shipment and receipt of lab materials as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical teams to support patient treatment needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No experience needed; prior dental, orthodontic, or laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Comfortable learning new technology, software, and digital workflows.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with EasyRx, digital models, or orthodontic appliances is a plus, but not required.
