Lab Technician

About the role

The role involves performing quality assurance on raw materials and finished products, preparing and issuing reports, maintaining accurate records, developing a moderate familiarity with raw material and finished product specifications, conducting experimental mixing and testing of building products, keeping equipment and work areas clean, organizing, and in good working condition, safely lifting 50 pounds a few times per day, and working overtime and various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform Quality Assurance testing and evaluations on raw materials and finished products.
• Prepare and issue reports to company personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of Quality Assurance and experimental results.
• Develop a moderate familiarity with raw material and finished product specifications.
• Perform testing functions such as tensile, penetration, bending, and flexibility.
• Assist with the training of other lab personnel.
• Conduct experimental mixing and testing of building products.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Safely lift 50 pounds a few times per day.
• Work overtime and various shifts when required.

Requirements

• Experience in a lab setting is preferred, with a background in materials science considered beneficial.
• Recent graduates are also considered.

• A willingness to learn and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
• The role involves physical testing such as viscosity, Instron, melt temperature, and flow rates.

Pay

The pay rate for this position is between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Schedule

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
