Responsibilities
- Carry out laboratory testing including viscosity, lap shear adhesion, and tensile strength, focusing on adhesives, sealants, and coatings.
- Prepare, conduct, and report on product testing and development.
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation of work performed.
- Practice safe work habits and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in chemistry, formulation, and laboratory settings.
- 3+ years of experience with silicone, epoxy, consumer adhesive, polyester, or polyurethane.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with pencil hardness testing, posi testing, cross-hatch testing, and new product development.
- Experience in a lab setting with independent execution of test procedures.
- Relevant college degree or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Eligible to work in the USA.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 35 lb.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Work from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.
- Laboratory environment with mixing equipment and an outdoor area for spraying panels.
- Two large rooms in the lab, and a computer for documentation.
- Paint and solvents present, with a respirator available upon request.
- Team of 7 members within a company of approximately 15-175 employees, with 20-30 based in Atlanta.
- Less than 10% travel is required.
- This is a Contract position based out of Marietta, GA.
- The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
