Sample and perform pH, TA, brix, and nutritional analysis on grape juice and fermenting juiceSample and perform various analyses on bottled wine and wines in storagePerform basic wine analysis using instruments such as gas chromatograph, CO2 analyzer, alcolyzer, pH meter, spectrophotometer, autotitrator and chemistry analyzer.Read and interpret analytical results accurately and efficiently, adhering to strict record keeping policiesWork under pressure with multiple requests, deadlines and prioritization of samplesChemical preparation (acids, bases, buffers, reference standards)Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including SQF standardsFood Safety Responsibility: Report problems with the food safety system to supervisorWork safely and maintain a clean, organized work stationPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in the sciences Related science degree preferred. Courses in enology or familiarity with winemaking and an appreciation of wine a plusYears of Experience: One or more years in similar position or in an academic lab environmentGood interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively and work well with a teamValid California Driver’s license and clean DMV report Working Conditions: Moderate physical work with some outdoor exposureExtensive walking and lifting of up to 55 poundsWork site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilitiesWorking on 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM ShiftLong and irregular hours during peak periodsStanding for long periods of time (8 hours per day)Comply with all personal protective equipment requirements including lab coat, footwear, ear plugs and safety glassesExposure to various chemicals, forklifts, machinery and moving parts in lab and production areas Salary Range: $22.90 - $28.00 The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
