Responsibilities
- Operate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environments.
- Demonstrate a basic and continually increasing understanding of the laboratory environment and quality control practices.
- Participate in all competency testing programs including interdepartmental and customer-based equivalency testing.
- Collect samples from the production area and perform all relevant analytical tests according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately test samples to create final product Certificate of Analyses (CoAs) for approval by others as defined by SOPs in a timely manner.
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
- Communicate directly with the production team to ensure effective participation by the process operators on the implementation of QA/QC policies and procedures.
- Handle, organize, and store all chemical substances, fluids, and gases according to safety instructions.
- Communicate with third-party labs to schedule outside testing services.
- Participate in all company trainings.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- An Associate’s Degree in a relevant scientific or technical field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in academic, chemical, and/or commercial lab experience preferred.
- Physical abilities to include the ability to lift 50 lbs (23 Kg), able to climb several flights of stairs and not affected by heights.
- Experience with automated laboratory instruments preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate internally and externally with customers.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment is required.
