Lab Technician 1

About the role

This full‑time, onsite Lab Technician 1 role is based in Newburgh, NY, working in the sample preparation department of the environmental testing laboratory. You will receive the training needed to succeed and grow a laboratory sciences career at Pace®.

Responsibilities

• Support all laboratory sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, processing, and maintenance.
• Maintain and update appropriate documentation and databases.
• Participate in training on fundamental lab support policies, programs, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves — all provided by Pace®).
• Experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred but not required.
• Mobility to work in a lab and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment, and stamina to sit for extended periods; exerting up to 20 lb of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lb frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
• Vision to read printed materials and computer screens; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
• Work environment includes exposure to chemicals, fumes, gases, and noxious odors in a lab setting.
