Lab Tech 1 (Float)

The Lab Tech 1 is a float position requiring travel to Hill Country Clinic locations (including Marble Falls, Llano, San Saba, Leander, Cedar Park, Lago Vista, Johnson City, Kingsland). This is a full‑time role with day‑shift hours Monday‑Friday, either 8 AM‑5 PM or 7 AM‑4 PM. The incumbent performs routine laboratory duties under supervision using established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens.
• Sets up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform test.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.

Requirements

• Education: H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience

Skills

• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions.
• Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
