Lab Tech 1 (Float)

About the role

Float Position – must be able to travel. The Lab Tech 1 performs routine laboratory duties using established protocols and procedures under supervision. Specific duties may vary by assigned area.

Location: Hill Country Clinic Float (including but not limited to Marble Falls, Llano, San Saba, Leander, Cedar Park, Lago Vista, Johnson City, Kingsland).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sort, label, and record patient specimens.
• Set up specimens, materials, and equipment in preparation for a Medical Technologist to perform tests.
• Operate centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer, and other laboratory equipment to complete assigned duties.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.

Skills

• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions.
• Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
• Knowledge of safety and infection‑control standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High‑school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.

Schedule

Full‑time, day shift, Monday‑Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM or 7 AM – 4 PM.
