Lab Support Technician II

About the role

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) supports the provider care team by providing laboratory support mechanisms, including accurate, timely, and effective report, data, and scheduling functions.

Responsibilities

• Accurately acquire all required types of specimens as needed for laboratory testing.
• Utilize safe, accurate, and effective methodologies for laboratory testing under supervision.
• Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies during specimen collection and testing.
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers, aligning with Mercy's Signature Service Standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience, or successful completion of a clinical training program.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of specific facility competencies, including but not limited to a checklist, written examination, management observation, etc., to advance to the next higher job description.

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills.
