Lab Support Technician-FT, Nights Only

About the role

Find your calling at Mercy! The Lab Support Technician I Nights only is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for providing accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely and effective laboratory support.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions.
• Skillfully acquire laboratory specimens for testing using safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies.
• Process, transport, and refer all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required.
• Be observed by laboratory management or designee and complete all departmental checklists for the LST Nights Only position.
• Perform duties in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma, G.E.D, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum.

Qualifications

• College‑level coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or other Science subjects.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory.

Skills

• Excellent customer service.

• Processing, transport, and referral of laboratory specimens and reports.
