Lab Support Technical

About the role

Lab Support Technical position located in Roseville, CA. The role involves cloud platform resilience testing, lab and infrastructure administration and automation for the SGP team’s development and product releases.

Responsibilities

• Administer VMware products, HPE blade servers, HPE storage, and networking equipment (Broadcom, Aruba, Juniper; Cisco knowledge beneficial).
• Manage virtual networks, firewalls, and cybersecurity controls.
• Troubleshoot access controls, firewalls, VLANs, and Synergy servers.
• Maintain and administer databases (primarily MySQL) and backup systems (on‑site and remote).
• Perform hands‑on datacenter work: locate and connect to top‑of‑rack switches, servers, storage arrays; troubleshoot and replace components such as NICs, HBAs, drives, and blades.
• Collaborate with on‑site and remote infrastructure colleagues on the same hands‑on tasks.
• Provide clear written and verbal guidance to infrastructure specialists on observed issues and required actions.
• Interface with senior infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams, following complex instructions accurately.
• Use DCIM to monitor and manage lab infrastructure at scale.

Requirements

• Robust hands‑on expertise in administering VMware, HPE blade servers, HPE storage, and networking (Broadcom, Aruba, Juniper; Cisco foundational knowledge).
• Strong knowledge of networking (virtual networks, firewalls, cybersecurity), Microsoft and Linux, and cloud environments.
• Experience troubleshooting access controls, firewalls, VLANs, and Synergy servers.
• Strong experience with databases (primarily SQL such as MySQL) and backup processes (on‑site and remote).
• Ability to work physically in a datacenter environment, locating and connecting to switches, servers, storage, and replacing components.
• Ability to guide and direct infrastructure specialists with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to interface with senior infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity resources and follow complex instructions precisely.
• Ability to use DCIM to monitor and manage lab infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
