Lab Support Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Escort third-party service personnel: meet OEM or TPV service engineers at customer entry points, confirm the reason for the site visit, and verify that required customer health and safety requirements for site entry have been completed.
• Accompany engineers to equipment locations, hand off to customer equipment owners/users, and escort them back to the entry point upon completion of service, obtaining a copy of the service report and work order status before departure.
• Communicate effectively with technically oriented individuals, establishing rapport, trust, and confidence while discussing troubleshooting or repair situations professionally and cost-effectively.
• Escalate issues to management or appropriate program leaders for strategy development and follow up to ensure customer commitments are met satisfactorily.
• Maintain instrument inventory integrity by conducting sweeps and spot checks, documenting changes (e.g., manufacturer, model, serial number, location, owner), and updating the SAP database through the change control process (ARC).
• Perform additional lab support activities as agreed upon by departmental leadership.
• Maintain compliance and training in health, safety, security, environmental, and operational aspects of the working environment.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing role within a scientific environment OR high school diploma with 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role within a scientific environment.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Technical problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interpret client requests.
• Initiative-driven with a proactive approach to improving processes.
• Ability to read and interpret chemical labeling and hazardous signage.
• Intermediate MS Office skills: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.
• Proactive, independent, and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or associate’s degree in a relevant field with 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing role within a scientific environment.
• Basic understanding of GLP/GxP and/or experience working in a compliance-driven environment.

Working Environment

• Work in laboratories and controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses).
• Fast-paced environment with high job completion demands.
• Must remain stationary for more than 25% of the time.
• Frequent movement between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite.
• Regularly bend, squat, stretch, and reach to operate instruments, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
• Specific vision abilities required: close-range detail observation, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional use of computers and office machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer).
• May require medical clearance, respiratory protection training, and fit testing to wear a respirator in hazardous laboratory environments.

Pay

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $50,000 to $60,000. The final base pay offered will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
