Lab Support Assistant II
Responsibilities
- Collections all discarded waste from Specimen Processing.
- Sorts through all discarded waste consisting of paper and biological material.
- Delivers any biological specimen to Lab Support Supervisor.
- Rebags and disposes all sorted waste appropriately.
- Adheres to all established laboratory safety requirements.
- Uses personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and/or work practice controls as directed by management.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by competent authority.
Qualifications
- Physical and Mental Requirements: Physical activity includes stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and feeling. Light work (up to 25 pounds of force occasionally).
- Visual acuity; exposure to biological specimens, biohazard materials, and chemicals.
- Knowledge: Proper specimen handling techniques.
- Skills: Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors and co-workers; attention to detail; ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Pay and Schedule
Pay range: $17.75+ per hour; eligible for shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and market and organizational factors.
