About the role

This position installs, maintains, and orders PMT equipment, tooling, and raw materials. It supports PMT course and lab experiences by ensuring that all related equipment and course materials are functional, safe, well-maintained, and distributed. The role also provides Machining Programming/Lab Tours and escalates unresolvable issues to the Director of PMT.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors PMT equipment performance and conducts preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Repairs and maintains PMT machines and equipment in the Machining Lab, Inspection Room, and Tool Crib areas
  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert (machining) and supports machining and metrology related programming in PMT-related lab areas
  • Tracks, orders, and maintains organization/distributions of raw materials, tools, and lab supplies related to PMT
  • Manages PMT associated vendor relationships
  • Affords monitoring and reporting of associated operational costs and utilization rates of PMT related lab areas
  • Receives, stocks, prepares, and ships raw materials, tooling, and course materials related to PMT programming
  • Oversees student use of all machining lab equipment and intervenes as necessary to ensure safe and proper use of PMT equipment
  • Ensures the shop floor equipment, tooling, and workspaces are safe, clean, orderly, and operational in compliance with Tri-C policy, best practices, or governing safety agencies
  • Trains, advises, and collaborates with all PMT Instructors/Preceptors as necessary to support PMT related programming
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of related professional machining, or machine repair experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively dealing with people of various backgrounds, technical experience, and learning modes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively, efficiently, and appropriately resolve conflict

$23.00/hour

Schedule

Work shift can be 1st or 2nd shift. Hours will vary between 8:30am - 5pm and/or 5pm - 10pm.
