About the role

Eurofins Food Chemistry Madison is seeking a supervisor to oversee scientific and operational staff responsible for method development/validation projects and sample analysis. This role involves analytical data review, data management, and table generation, with all activities conducted in compliance with SOPs, regulatory agency guidelines, and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards. The position is based in a newly established ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Madison, WI, specializing in food chemistry testing for infant formula, sole-source nutrition products, hemp and CBD, dietary supplements, and botanicals, utilizing UPLC, HPLC, GC, and LCMS technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Apply GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Assume responsibilities of Site Operations in the absence of the Site Operations Head, as required
  • Schedule staff and assign resources
  • Identify resource needs and coordinate installation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and space, as applicable
  • Review data, as applicable
  • Prepare technical reports for clients, as applicable
  • Review cost estimates; compile and provide revenue and forecast information to appropriate Eurofins staff, as applicable
  • Ensure staff compliance with SOPs and other regulatory agency guidelines
  • Develop appropriate training plans and ensure staff are trained
  • Develop expertise in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex equipment or software
  • Perform general human resources responsibilities, including recruitment activities, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and implement action plans
  • Act as front line contact for internal and external clients, as applicable
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Science or equivalent degree
  • 2+ years related experience and 1+ years leadership experience (experience may be substituted for education)
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory agency guidelines
  • Working knowledge of laboratory operations and understanding of the technical aspects of the laboratory and/or computers and computer software systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Reside within a commutable distance to the Madison, WI laboratory
