Essential Functions Statement(s) Provide general oversight and support for the lab and techniciansOversee adherence to test methods and laboratory proceduresPerform inventory management of all bulk and reagent chemicalsDirect the proper preparation, storage, and use of all controlled materialsEvaluates supplies and materials needed for testing and directs purchasing department on correct orderingKeep accurate records related to testing activities and prepare summary reports of data in a timely mannerTroubleshoot instruments, equipment, and production processesPerform routine analytical and physical process control testing including evaluation of external test reportsLeads continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory department including internal auditingParticipates in audits pertaining to NADCAP, AS9100, & Individual Customer Surveillance AuditsIdentifies or recommends new or upgrading of equipment and/or methods to improve productivity and capacityMonitors, measures and implements corrective action to improve results within the departmentParticipate in new process implementation within the company including customer specification reviewsInteract with outside vendors, laboratories, and customers to communicate requirements and resolve issuesMotivates, coaches, and develops employees within the departmentOther duties as assigned by managementMust be able to lift 25 pounds or lessRequires frequent speaking, standing, and walkingOccasional grasping, reaching, and bendingAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Safety GlassesSense of sound, touch, and sightShop conditions can be in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer season Position Qualifications SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Chemistry Experience: 5 plus years of experience in manufacturing, preferred Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
