Lab Supervisor

About the role

The Laboratory Supervisor oversees the freestanding Emergency Department, Urgent Care, and Outpatient phlebotomy services. They provide technical consultant responsibilities and day-to-day operational oversight while actively performing clinical laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely, accurate testing to support patient care
• Maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Led assigned laboratory staff through effective staffing coordination, performance management, and clinical leadership
• Interviews, hires, trains, coaches, develops, disciplines, engages, and evaluates employees

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or higher, in a chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution required
• At least 2 years of laboratory training or experience, or both in non-waived testing, in the designated specialty or subspecialty areas of service for which the technical consultant is responsible
• 2+ years of Leadership experience, managing, planning and executing activities; including project management, establishing performance metrics, and employee engagement

Qualifications

• Education and training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
• Completion of an approved/accredited clinical laboratory training program, or at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing
