Lab Processing Tech II - Phlebotomist

About the role

The Laboratory Processing Technician II performs EKGs, specimen collection, and specimen preparation. Duties also include assisting with patient registration, laboratory report distribution, and clerical tasks. They assist with the pre-analytical automation and provide training to both internal employees and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs EKGs
• Collects specimens within scope of training, including legal specimen collection
• Prepares all specimen types
• Aids in patient registration and laboratory report distribution
• Assists with troubleshooting the pre-analytical automation as assigned
• Provides training and/or orientation for internal employees and external customers

Requirements

• Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training
• ACT 169 clearance
• Preferred: A.S.C.P. certification in phlebotomy

Work Hours

Primarily evening shift, weekends, and holidays as needed.
