About the role

The Laboratory Processing Technician II performs EKGs, specimen collection, and specimen preparation. They assist with patient registration, laboratory report distribution, and clerical duties. They also mans and troubleshoots pre-analytical automation as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs EKGs
• Collects specimens within their scope of training including legal specimen collection
• Prepares all specimen types
• Aids in patient registration and laboratory report distribution
• Assists with other clerical duties
• Mans and troubleshoots pre-analytical automation as assigned
• Trains and/or orientates internal employees and external customers

Requirements

• Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training
• ACT 169 clearance
• Preferred: A.S.C.P. certification in phlebotomy
