About the role
The Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience Research Laboratory at Binghamton University seeks a Lab Manager (Research Technician) to support cutting-edge research on the interaction between perception and cognition, particularly focusing on the cognitive and brain mechanisms underlying speech and language processing.
Responsibilities
- Manage laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and data management
- Conduct experiments using EEG and fMRI, and analyze behavioral data
- Collaborate with researchers to design and implement new experimental paradigms
- Support the development and execution of computational models to interpret neural and behavioral data
- Prepare and present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements
- A Master's degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, or a related field
- Experience with EEG and fMRI data acquisition and analysis
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of statistical methods and programming languages such as R or Python
- Experience with neuroimaging software such as SPM, AFNI, or FSL
- Interest in cognitive neuroscience and speech/language processing
Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Good time management and organizational skills
