Lab Associate I - PRN
Alton Memorial Hospital has a PRN Lab Associate I opportunity for a lab tech with phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting. PRN (as-needed) team members must be available to work a minimum of four shifts within an eight-week period, at least one weekend shift during each six-week scheduling period, and a minimum of one recognized holiday per calendar year.

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, and ambulance services.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, ensuring proper collection and specimen integrity.
- Coordinate a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations, prioritizing work to meet scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
- Interact with lab, clinical, and other ancillary departments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Phlebotomy certification or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Less than 2 years of experience in a related role.
- Less than 2 years of supervisory experience.
