Lab Associate II - PRN

About the role

The role at Christian Hospital is for a PRN Lab Associate II. This position is ideal for an experienced Phlebotomist looking to expand their career and join a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, specimen handling, and clerical duties.
• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate systems.
• Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification, and maintain positive patient interactions.
• Ensure proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory, managing all specimens efficiently.
• Coordinate a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuating workload, prioritizing work to meet scheduled hours and turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in phlebotomy and proficiency in additional tasks such as central processing duties, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience preferred.

Skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Phlebotomy certification.
