About the role
The Pre-Analytical Assistant I position is located at Miramar, FL, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM with rotational weekends.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates an ability to learn job duties and understand how all functions in Tech Ops and Specimen Processing work together.
- Identifies and resolves issues with specimen types, missing information, sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens.
- Develops an understanding of compliance policies related to test ordering, including researching test order information on translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services.
- Maintains quality and production standards within 6 months of training.
- Completes all required written documentation in a clear, legible, and timely manner.
- Reports to work on time and follows attendance guidelines.
- Learns additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing to progress to the next level.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Preferred work experience in a production environment, knowledge of medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory, high school diploma or equivalent.
