Responsibilities
- Perform routine technical and clerical functions, including specimen registration and billing.
- Conduct venipuncture and capillary puncture as assigned.
- Label tubes and specimen containers, and manage specimen receipt and distribution.
- Perform CLIA-waived laboratory tests as requested.
- Assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred Education: Completion of a Phlebotomy program.
- Minimum Experience: One year of clinical laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
- Preferred Experience: Basic laboratory computer or lab information system experience.
- Required Certifications/Licensure: Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires.
- Preferred Certifications/Licensure: Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or similar.
