Lab Assistant I (Part-Time, Nights)

Position Summary

The Lab Assistant I (CPT I) collects blood samples from patients for laboratory testing. They routinely perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws.

Desired EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

• College science courses
• Previous laboratory experience
• Minimum: Current Phlebotomy Certificate CPT I issued by the California Department of Public Health.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be aware of chemical hygiene protocols, and handling requirements of biohazard materials.
• Must know and follow all universal precautions and be familiar with blood drawing safety devices.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
• Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Shift

• Shift: Nights
• Shift length: 10 Hours
• Days off: Variable
• Hours per pay period: 70
