Lab Assistant I (Full-Time, Temporary, Nights)

Position Summary

The Lab Assistant I (CPT I) collects blood samples from patients for laboratory testing. They routinely perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws.

Desired EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

• College science courses
• Previous laboratory experience

LICENSES / CERTIFICATION

• Current Phlebotomy Certificate CPT I issued by the California Department of Public Health.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Follows instructions
• Works quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Awareness of chemical hygiene protocols and handling requirements of biohazard materials
• Knowledge and following of universal precautions and blood drawing safety devices
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to fulfill essential functions of the position
