Lab Assistant I

Job Summary

The Laboratory Assistant I supports and provides customer service to the clinical laboratory department, processes specimens, and performs waived or moderate testing as directed by the Clinical Laboratory Manager or Director. Duties include pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical tasks, specimen handling, communication with staff, and clerical responsibilities.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent - Phlebotomy experience, preferred - Ability to read, write, and comprehend English - Proficient in using computer systems - Professional telephone etiquette and effective communication skills - Problem-solving ability - Organizational skills - Comfortable working with human specimens - Ability to work flexible shifts
