Lab Assistant I

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an ability to learn job duties and understand how functions in Technical Operations and Specimen Processing work together.
• Identifies and resolves issues with specimen types, missing information, sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage.
• Develops understanding of compliance policies related to test ordering.
• Maintains quality and production standards within 6 months of training.
• Completes required written documentation in a clear, legible, and timely manner.
• Reports to work on time and follows attendance guidelines.
• Learns additional functions within Technical Operations and Specimen Processing to progress to the next level.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory preferred.
• Minimal data entry skills.

Pay and Schedule

• Pay range: $20.10 - $22.01 / hour.
• Shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift.

Schedule

• Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
