About the role
The Lab Assistant will play an essential role in providing customer service to the company’s clients consisting of hospitals, physician's offices, community medical centers, and other hospital and medical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assists Pharmacy Manager with billing related items for the customers and the Pharmacy.
- Acts as a customer service liaison for the company, including treating all internal and external customers with respect, listening to and assisting in resolving customer complaints.
- Informs management of complaints or requests in a timely manner.
- Accepts returns from clients where applicable.
- Breaks down delivery cases, disposes of radioactive materials, and sanitizes lead pigs.
- Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries and returns.
- Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the inside and outside of delivery vehicles and facility.
- Assists with the stocking of products and supplies throughout the facility as well as tracking inventory.
- Notifies the Pharmacy Manager when products or supplies are low, need to be re-ordered, or replaced.
- Performs routine safety checks on vehicles and pre-trip vehicle inspections according to company guidelines.
- Immediately reports all vehicle maintenance issues or malfunctions to the Pharmacy Manager.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures while safely carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
- Complies with all company safety standards, and all federal, state, and local laws.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with valid state driver’s license required.
- Ability to work a variety of shift schedules including early mornings, days, nights, holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed.
- Must possess excellent critical-thinking, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
- Good judgment and self-discipline.
- Must successfully pass comprehensive background checks, reference reviews, and drug screening.
- May be required to pass physical fitness (assessment of strength, endurance, and stamina) to evaluate physical ability to perform regular duties of the job.
Physical and Intellectual Requirements
- Manual dexterity for manipulating small items.
- Regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion.
- Able to handle standing, walking, and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals.
- Good eye-hand coordination; fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses).
- Normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz).
- Ability to analyze situations, set priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Effective organizational skills.
- A commitment to continuous learning.
- An ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Pay
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
