Duties/Responsibilities
- Independently manage laboratory documentation and assist junior staff with proper recordkeeping.
- Prepare complex standards and reagents in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Calibrate instrumentation and perform routine maintenance independently; conduct basic troubleshooting.
- Set up and load instruments for analysis with minimal oversight.
- Analyze samples and ensure accurate flagging and narrative documentation; guide others in these practices.
- Track sample progress, ensure timely completion, and communicate delays appropriately.
- Support and mentor junior analysts in laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Collaborate with management to design and execute investigation tests.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of test codes, SOPs, and parent methods.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance technical expertise.
Requirements
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve routine technical issues.
- Effective communication and mentoring skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and documentation practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of laboratory experience, preferably in an environmental or analytical testing lab.
Skills
