Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory tests and interpret results, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and input data for reports and summaries.
  • Plan and schedule daily work based on supervisor guidance and project priorities.
  • Identify and resolve routine laboratory issues, including supply and reagent availability.
  • Maintain cleanroom conditions, laboratory equipment, and safe waste disposal practices.
  • Follow Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) protocols and participate in audits, safety programs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and sample preparation.
  • Provide technical training to peers after achieving proficiency in assigned tasks.
  • Handle and analyze standard client samples independently and non-standard samples under supervision.
  • Support compliance activities and document processes accurately.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of laboratory protocols, cleanroom practices, and quality systems.
  • Ability to follow QC/QA standards and maintain compliance with safety requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  • Strong math and basic statistical skills with foundational knowledge of general chemistry.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and precision in handling hazardous chemicals and sensitive materials.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and using laboratory tools and equipment.

Education, Certifications, & Experience

  • A.A. degree (in chemistry or related discipline) with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience, or
  • B.S. degree (in chemistry or related discipline) or M.S. degree with no relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
