Responsibilities
- Coordinate rack-and-stack activities with Lab Support teams to ensure timely deployment of engineering hardware.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, servers, optics, power shelves, and related infrastructure.
- Build, configure, and validate engineering testbeds based on technical requirements.
- Perform chassis assembly, line card installation, hardware upgrades, and initial hardware verification and health checks.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and hardware issues, including cabling, network connectivity, PXE boot failures, device bring-up, image loading, and power-related issues.
- Ensure testbeds are fully operational by verifying power, cooling, network connectivity, topology configuration, and console access prior to engineering handoff.
- Manage hardware inventory, asset tracking, equipment movement, documentation, and device replacements to support efficient lab operations.
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
- Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
- Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
- Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
- Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting engineering labs, data center environments, or related infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and network troubleshooting, including connectivity and routing protocols.
- Experience booting and loading images on routers.
- Experience bringing up and supporting large-scale network topologies.
- Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting routers, switches, and related networking hardware.
- Knowledge of traffic generators, Linux systems, switches, and routers.
- Experience with rack-and-stack operations, fiber and copper cabling standards, and hardware installation.
- Familiarity with PXE boot, provisioning, hardware diagnostics, inventory management, asset tracking, and technical documentation.
Skills
- Experience supporting large engineering or cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience configuring and maintaining engineering testbeds.
- Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, time management, and multitasking skills with a customer-focused support mindset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
