Responsibilities

  • Advocate and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be as active in their lives as possible.
  • Assist with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
  • Assist individuals to medical appointments, banking, community outings, and administer medications.
  • Follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and medical guidelines.
  • Participate in paid New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) training.
  • Provide program and person‑specific training at the individual’s home.
  • Ensure safe evacuation of individuals from the home in an emergency.
  • Maintain certifications and comply with Agency policies and DDS regulations/policies.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, overnights, or double‑shifts
